In the trial

  • The direct review link, a three-sentence door script per job type and the same-day text on the shop line, with a job-sheet column to track asks
  • Every existing review replied to with the job type and town, and a reply template for the rare one-star that takes it offline
  • Removal requests filed for reviews that are clearly auto glass, a different company, or contain no real job

Review generation and reputation for a window repair company

Across 7,654 glass and window repair listings the median shop has 26 reviews, 31% have fewer than ten, and the top tenth sits at 233 or more. Ratings do not separate anyone; 73.8% of rated shops are at 4.5 or better. The count does.

The trade makes reviews hard because most residential customers call once. The review has to be earned on the day, while the technician is still in the driveway. An ask at the door with a text sent on the spot converts 25% to 40% of residential customers; an email next week converts 3% to 5%. A one-van shop doing 50 to 70 jobs a month should see 15 to 25 reviews a month on this system. The reviews guide has the script.

Questions

Window repair companies ask

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google prohibits incentives to customers and removes reviews when it finds them. A small bonus to technicians for asking on 90% of jobs is fine and is how most high-count shops got there.

What about a bad review from a job that went wrong?

Reply once, calmly, with the facts and a phone number, and never offer anything for editing it. Future customers read your reply, not the complaint. Then ask on the next ten jobs; detailed five-stars bury it.
